The Intermediate Punishment Unit provides alternate forms of supervision in four specialized caseloads for offenders with specific identifiable needs. The Drug/Alcohol caseload PO takes a rehabilitative approach in dealing with an addicted offender population. The Mental Health caseload PO works in conjunction with mental health professionals in a “team approach” to dealing with mentally ill and dual diagnosed offenders.

 

The House Arrest/Electronic Monitoring caseload provides the Court with an alternative to short term incarceration. The Restrictive Intermediate Punishment caseload offers a “last chance rehabilitative approach” to drug/alcohol users who have been convicted of a serious offense.
